Mother-daughter team starts organic cotton candy business
A Spartanburg woman and her mother hope their business satisfies Upstate residents with a sweet tooth. Savannah Laney and her mother, Jennifer Woolen, started Sugah Momma's Gourmet Cotton Candy in April. The duo takes their unique flavors, made with organic sugar, to events and festivals across the Upstate hoping to grow the business, which started out as a conversation during Laney's day job as a hairstylist.

No, not really. The controversy and clamor attached to the report of the 2015 Dietary Guidelines Advisory Committee would seem to suggest that something that radical had been proposed. But that's not quite the case. The group did not announce that spinach, heretofore considered nutritious, actually causes human eyeballs to burst into flame (how the heck did we overlook that?).
